Construction Labourer - Skilled
Weekly Travel to Site
Reporting to the Lead Foreman, the Labourer would be responsible for assisting in building erecting, repairing, constructing forms, and structures made from wood, steel, concrete, and other construction materials as needed for the completion of various construction projects. They are responsible for the tidiness and cleanliness of the worksite and the site trailers, to ensure the workplace is organized, and free of hazards.

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES
Required
Work alongside and regularly communicate with the Sealand team and trade contractors.Tasks would include but limited to:
- Installation of vapor barrier, various types of insulation and cladding products including thermal isolation blocks, insulated metal panels, sheet metal siding, and various types of architectural paneling products.
- Install doors, frames, hardware, and windows
- Complete basic concrete formwork and carpentry tasks
- Strong advocate and leader of the Sealands Health & Safety Program by
- Ensure a safe working environment for everyone on site
- Follow all safety policies and procedures all the time
- Demonstrate good housekeeping habits to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
- Complete all daily safety documents without prompting
- Report any safety issues immediately
- Provide excellent customer service
- Follow directions and perform tasks as directed by Carpenter or Lead Foreman.
- Responsible for keeping worksite, including all trailers, clean and safe.Ensure project sites are clean, organized, and free of hazards. At the end of each day ensure site is clean, tidy, tools and equipment stored and locked in appropriate sea cans.
- Capable of digging trenches, and compacting earth.
- Load and unload construction materials and move around the worksite.
- Capable of operating, maintaining and occasionally repairing power tools, hand tools, and other tools and machinery.
QUALIFICATIONS
You understand construction terms, activities, and sequences.
Experienced in preparing material take-offs and reading blueprints
Experience installing insulated metal panels | ACM panels or various cladding systems or carpentry in a commercial |industrial construction environment is preferred.
You have attention to detail and the ability to creatively solve problems.
You are physically fit and able to work on your feet for 8-10 hours per day.
You are willing to travel weekly throughout the Maritimes.
You have a valid drivers license, clean abstract and are willing to complete a criminal record check.
